Our spaces are now featured on the Learning Space Toolkit, a free web resource that helps educators plan technology-based learning spaces to meet users’ needs. The site features all of the Weigle Information Commons’ study spaces as well as the various services that we provide students, such as technology workshops and student assistance in writing, public speaking, and student success resources. You can also browse the Education Commons’ study spaces.
The website mentions our brightly colored facilities, big windows, and different types of study spaces as key design features. The Toolkit emphasizes our goals of promoting both individual and group study, the social space that WIC provides, and our “built-in,” flexible technology. Learning Space Toolkit, a joint project by North Carolina State University, brightspot Strategy and AECOM Strategy+, features learning commons from across the country, and we’re happy that the WIC and the EC are both considered model spaces!
