We begin using a new scheduling software – LibCal – this January for reserving all group study space in Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center, including the Weigle Information Commons. LibCal is fast and mobile-friendly. You can find rooms by location on the main page or browse just the WIC spaces. LibCal works differently from Bookit – the system in use since March 2007 – it requires the two-step.
Click on the availability grid to request a room. LibCal will send an email to your Penn email address. Check your email and click the link in the confirmation email to complete the reservation.
Bookit used Pennkey login to manage reservations. LibCal uses your email address. You must use your upenn.edu or chop.edu email address. Contact us if you need help accessing your Penn email.
In the interest of fairness, we plan to enforce the rule that each person can use only one Penn email address to make LibCal reservations. The LibCal confirmation email includes a link if you need to manage or cancel your reservations.
LibCal also has a different set of reservation limits compared to Bookit.
LibCal can be used to schedule rooms in the Education Commons and the Biomedical Library in addition to the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center. . The policies vary a bit across locations, so do pay attention to the location (also called a Group) when you browse LibCal!
