Mountain Lion

Earlier today, Apple announced a sneak preview of their new, upcoming operating system, OSX 10.8, known as Mountain Lion.  The most obvious thing you notice is the increasing similarity to iOS, especially as it runs on an iPad.

iChat is being replaced with an app called “Messages,” which is basically just iMessages for the Mac, and will allow you to chat with anyone who’s using a Mac or iOS device.  AirPlay Mirroring allows you to stream what’s on your Mac to your television if you also own an AppleTV box.  Apple has also brought over Game Center, Notes, Reminders, and Notification Center from iOS to the Mac.

Read about these features and more when you check out the Mountain Lion preview at http://www.apple.com/macosx/mountain-lion/features.html#video-mountainlion

Mountain Lion will be released this summer, and will (unfortunately) be available only via the App Store.
